Trauma & recovery
Support for the impact of traumatic experiences, whether they happened recently or continue to affect you years later.
Support for what you are experiencing
Difficult experiences can affect your emotions, relationships and sense of safety. You may want to talk about a particular event, repeated experiences, or patterns you have only recently begun to understand. Therapy offers a private space to explore these concerns.
Traumatic experiences & post-traumatic stress
Support can address the emotional impact of traumatic experiences and post-traumatic stress, including the ways memories, emotions and a sense of safety affect everyday life.
Complex & relational trauma
Support is available for complex post-traumatic stress, complex relational trauma and concerns following motor vehicle accidents. Therapy can explore the impact of repeated experiences and difficult relationships.
EMDR & recent-trauma support
EMDR, including the Recent Trauma Protocol, is available alongside therapy for older traumatic experiences. Our dedicated first-responder page explains support following critical incidents and cumulative work-related trauma.
A space to work through the impact
Trauma support can focus on a particular experience, repeated events, or the ways the past continues to affect everyday life and relationships.
What you can bring
You can talk about memories, difficult emotions, feeling on edge, changes in sleep or the effects on connection with other people. You do not need to have everything organized into a clear story before reaching out.
What you want to change
There is space to discuss what you would like support with and the parts of your life you want to reconnect with. The focus of therapy can be discussed together as the work develops.
